The Latent Print Examiner position on the Ideal Innovations, Inc. Department of the Army Criminal Investigative Division (DACID) Examination Services Support (ESS) contract offers this opportunity.
- Work independently or as part of a team on digital latent print requests and routine casework within a 100% digital environment.
- This role supports DoD operations by searching latent prints through DoD ABIS, performing complex examinations on fragmented impressions, and applying digital comparison skills. Additional training in facial and iris examinations is provided.
- You will perform latent print examinations, comparisons, and identifications to support the DoD Warfighter and national security.
- Enhance skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, FBI ULW, and receive training in facial and iris examinations.
Typical Day :
Work involves using Windows 10 to perform latent print examinations, comparisons, and case documentation for DACID BOD and external requests.
Tasks :
Examine and evaluate processed latent fingerprints for entry into DoD ABIS and AFIS.Prepare latent prints using digital imaging techniques.Employ encoding strategies for search files.Compare latent prints with candidate prints to identify or eliminate individuals.Document case notes and prepare reports using case management systems.Monitor queues and resolve Unsolved Latent Matches.Maintain SOPs and WIs.Support facial and iris examinations as needed.Verify all latent print identifications.Qualifications :
Education and Experience :Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelors with 6 years related experience; or Associate degree with 8 years; or High School diploma with 10 years.
Excellent communication, decision-making, customer service, and attention to detail skills.Training and competency in latent print examination and AFIS experience.Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office.Ability to pass proficiency testing.Willingness to work 10-12 hour shifts on a 24 / 7 schedule, including nights.Willingness to relocate or commute to Clarksburg, WV.Desired Qualifications :
IAI certification (within 1 year of eligibility).Experience with Universal Latent Workstation (ULW).Physical Job Requirements : Ability to work long hours at a computer in an office environment.
Work Shift Flexibility :
Willing to work shifts (10-12 hours) on a 24 / 7 schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Shift times are flexible : day, afternoon, or evening shifts, primarily set shifts with no rotation.Citizenship : US Citizenship required.
Clearance : Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret clearance.
