Job Summary : We are seeking a hands-on Salesforce Platform Engineer to manage and optimize our Salesforce environment. The ideal candidate will have a mix of admin and developer experience, with strong expertise in Apex, Flows, APIs, ETL, security, and DevOps practices using tools like Copado. This role is responsible for stabilizing, documenting, and governing the Salesforce platform to make it self-sufficient, secure, scalable, and compliant, particularly in a healthcare-focused environment integrating with EHR and enterprise systems. Key Responsibilities : Own Salesforce security, compliance, and governance, ensuring alignment with HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational standards. Configure, maintain, and optimize Salesforce DevOps pipelines using Copado or similar tools for CI / CD deployments. Review existing Salesforce environment, improve workflows, manage data and user access, and introduce structure around DevOps and environment management. Develop and maintain Apex code, Flows, ETL processes, APIs, and integrations with external systems. Automate environment refreshes, user provisioning, and data management tasks. Integrate Salesforce with Okta for SSO and enterprise identity management. Implement and maintain backup, archiving, and recovery processes for Salesforce data. Support data extracts, migrations, and bulk operations for analytics, reporting, and integration. Monitor API usage, system performance, and error logs, proactively addressing potential risks. Provide Tier 3 / engineering-level support for complex Salesforce issues. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of workflows, security policies, integrations, and DevOps practices. Partner with business and IT teams to stabilize and optimize Sales Cloud, including leads, opportunities, and custom objects. Stay current with Salesforce releases, new features, and best practices in DevOps, platform security, and compliance. Required Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of experience in Salesforce administration, engineering, or platform management in enterprise environments. Active Salesforce certifications (e.g., Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I / II, Sharing & Visibility Architect, Security & Identity Architect). Hands-on experience with Salesforce DevOps tools (Copado, Gearset, or Jenkins-based pipelines) and CI / CD practices. Strong expertise in Salesforce security, access controls, roles, SSO, and compliance (HIPAA / HITECH). Proficiency in Apex, Flows, APIs, ETL processes, and integration frameworks. Experience integrating Salesforce with EHR systems or other enterprise platforms. Experience with ETL / data integration tools such as Fivetran, MuleSoft, or Informatica. Proficiency in scripting / automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Apex). Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently, take ownership of the platform, and make the business self-sufficient. Preferred Qualifications : Prior experience in healthcare or life sciences environments. Experience in stabilizing and documenting Salesforce environments with minimal oversight. Familiarity with large-scale enterprise Salesforce implementations and multiple DevOps environments.
