A national healthcare staffing organization is currently seeking Physicians and Nurse Practitioners / Physician Assistants (Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Primary Care) to support hurricane relief efforts across Louisiana . This emergency response assignment will involve rapid deployment to state-designated medical operations.
About the Opportunity :
- Location : Louisiana (multiple statewide sites)
- Shift : Day (7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM) | Night (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM)
- Schedule : 12-hour shifts; overtime available at 1.5x standard rate
- Setting : Emergency shelters, urgent care sites, triage centers, and other LDH-designated locations
- Deployment : Must be able to deploy within 24-48 hours of notice
Responsibilities :
The Physician or NP / PA will be responsible for :
Conducting patient assessments, screenings, and triageProviding urgent care, wound care, and chronic disease managementAdministering medications, vaccinations, and dialysis supportDelivering limited behavioral health and social service supportMaintaining accurate documentation and reportingQualifications :
Minimum 1+ year of clinical experience in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Primary Care, Acute Care, or Urgent CareBoard Certified or Board Eligible (Physicians) | National certification (NP / PA)Active, unencumbered medical license (Louisiana compliance may be required)BLS certification requiredDEA registration required (if prescribing / dispensing medications)Strong clinical judgment in high-stress / emergency settingsExcellent adaptability and communication skillsDesired Skills :
Previous experience in emergency response, disaster relief, or community healthFamiliarity with urgent care and triage protocolsAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
