Overview
Technician in Charge / Lead Technician at Transdev in Pinellas County, FL. The Lead Technician will supervise and coordinate the technician team, ensuring the timely and efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in gasoline vehicles and equipment.
- Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to support maintenance and repair activities while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Coach and monitor members of the work team.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technician, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing gasoline engines and related systems.Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail and accuracy.Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.Physical Requirements
Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.May involve long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.Work environment will be a combination of indoors and outdoors.Benefits
