Salary : $18 - $24 per hour
Job Purpose
As the Assistant Manager of the Grace Kitchen you would help empower our individuals with developmental disabilities as they transition into competitive employment. In this role, you will be responsible in assisting the executive chef with the day-to-day duties of running the kitchen and helping create a fun and inviting environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Supervise kitchen staff and support in scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain compliance with sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety regulations at all times.
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and receiving supplies.
- Support cost control efforts, including portioning, minimizing waste, and managing labor.
- Step into cooking or prep roles as needed during peak periods or staffing gaps.
- Provide on-going support to program participants including job coaching, skill training and job training.
- Provide support to line cooks and job coaches in the absence of one of the managers
- Submit case notes and other required documentation promptly.
- Collect data and maintain records as required by the state and Grace Reliant Health Services
- Maintain certifications in First Aid and CPR
- Maintain certifications in Food Handler Safety
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
College degree or culinary school experience preferredPrevious restaurant experienceCooking experience (Back of House Lead Only)Ability to relate to a wide range of individualsAbility to bend reach and lift in order to provide hands-on training to program participantsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong commitment to customer serviceWorking Conditions
This position could require evening and weekend work.
Physical Requirements
This position requires standing for long periods of time and possibly lifting heavy objects.
