Overview
Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 1823) at GameStop. This role supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and helps develop a sales culture by providing outstanding guest experiences and product knowledge. The position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
- Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases / returns accurately using the POS system, including handling changes, receipts, and providing top-notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote GameStop guest benefits such as new title reservations, trade-ins, and Pro Rewards.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; input performance feedback into HR systems in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed before opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethical responsibilities.
- Assist with scheduling to maintain staffing levels and ensure excellent guest service.
- Approve payroll, manage time off requests, and verify pay for time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipment processing.
- Support inventory control and loss prevention practices; inspect packages as needed and communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Help the store meet sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Conduct store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure proper representation and organization on the sales floor.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; ensure closeout paperwork and bank deposits are completed accurately.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report discrepancies to the Store Manager / District Manager.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain awareness of guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines.
- Help maintain store records / files and keep manuals up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and opening / closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key Job Skills And Abilities
