MANAGEMENT ANALYST - DATA SOLUTIONS (UNCLASSIFIED)

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional level work with a high degree of independent judgment and responsibility in the administration of the city. Responsibilities include liaison with various City departments, staff work involving administrative and operational analysis, budget preparation and administration, management or organizational studies, and other related administrative duties.
  • Work as part of the Office Of Performance And Data Analytics, a small, fast-paced team charged with creating data solutions, process design & improvement, and performance management across all City Departments.
  • Contribute to initiatives including Data Solutions (data processing, data transformation, dashboard / report building), CincyInsights (open data dashboard portal), Open Data Portal, Continuous Improvement, and Performance Management Agreements.
  • Part of either the Continuous Improvement team (SQL programming, data visualization, data analysis, project management, process design / improvement, cross-department facilitation) or the Data Solutions team (technical support for data-driven operations, dashboard / dataset improvement, innovation projects, and data-sharing with departments).
  • Develop and demonstrate skills such as learning quickly, building relationships, following up, collaboration, strategic thinking, time management, and balanced decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications (KSAs) : Knowledge of Project Management, Process Design, Process Improvement, Meeting Facilitation Practices, and Microsoft SQL Server programming; experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI / Microsoft Fabric); ETL concepts; current trends in data processing.
  • Skills : Manage projects through full lifecycle; build cross-functional relationships; develop SQL queries; understand department data needs; coordinate cross-functional projects; evaluate city data (e.g., public safety, public services, internal services).
  • Abilities : Prepare clear reports; adapt to new processes and technologies; provide guidance on applications / databases; troubleshoot; maintain confidentiality; manage multiple priorities; make data-driven decisions; maintain documentation and timelines; establish internal / external partnerships on analytics and data-sharing.
  • Education : A bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
