Entry Level Structural Engineer – Eipel

Location : Midtown Manhattan – On-site, Full-Time

Position Summary

Eipel Engineering is a structural engineering consulting firm with over 80 years of history providing solutions for some of New York City’s most challenging renovation and retrofit projects.

This role offers an opportunity to join a highly focused, collaborative team where junior engineers gain direct exposure to senior staff to work on complex projects from the start. Eipel’s work emphasizes existing structures, requiring thoughtful analysis, practical solutions, and an understanding of how engineering decisions translate into construction realities.

Candidates should expect a rigorous, hands-on role that blends design, field experience, and technical problem-solving in one of the most complex building environments in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design, analysis, calculations, and drawing markups under the supervision of senior engineers, project managers, and principals
  • Assist in the preparation of construction documents, drawing sets, and technical studies
  • Participate in on-site investigations to assess structural conditions and develop solutions
  • Collaborate on feasibility studies and concept presentations
  • Gain exposure to a diverse range of projects, including retail retrofits, healthcare facilities, office upgrades, entertainment venues, and historic building restorations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.C.E.) from an ABET-accredited four-year program
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification
  • Strong academic foudnation in structural analysis, mechanics and design
  • Interest in renovation-driven projects and the technical challenges of working with existing structures
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn rapidly
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site in New York City
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Salary Range : $65,000 - $80,000 annually based on experience and qualifications). Performance-based bonuses awarded throughout the year, tied to individual and firm performance
