Summary / Objective :
The Sheet Metal Helper will assist mechanics with fabrication, assembly, installation, and repairs of sheet metal products, ductwork, and equipment.
Essential Functions :
Helps set up tools and equipmentLoads and unloads construction materials from trucks and into shop fabrication warehouseCleans work area and restocks supplies and materials as necessaryMakes subassemblies and hangers as directed by mechanicAssists in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and devices during installationHelps around the fabrication shop with assorted tasks related to sheet metalAssembles materialsMaintains good housekeeping and a safe work areaDevelops technical skills through our internal training programs and / or an Apprenticeship ProgramPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility : No
Required :
Minimum of 6 months' sheet metal shop fabrication experience and / or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceKnowledge of trade related hand toolsMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned, to include working varying schedules that may require extended hours (evenings, weekends and holidays) and require client-specific safety standardsThe work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following :
