Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field
- More than 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a manufacturing facility
- Proven working experience in mechanical engineering projects
- Strong technical aptitude related to rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, interpretating schematics
- Ability to analyze data and trends and identify opportunities through analysis
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment
- Competencies and skills : analytical mindset, problem solving, clear communication of technical information, and proficiency with computer-aid tools
Responsibilities
Identify opportunities to improve the safety and reliability of the assetsCollaborate with Electrical and Process engineers to identify improvements and implement opportunities for improvementProvide technical guidance and training to the mechanical maintenance team membersFacilitate the identification and / or implementation of Best Practices and Continuous Improvement across all teamsAssist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures and Work InstructionsMaintain environmental and safety compliance requirementsIdentify safety hazards and opportunities for improvement in SafetyIdentify environmental opportunities for improvementDevelop and deliver training in relevant areas of expertiseLead maintenance activities and team members for maintenance outages, shutdowns and daily activitiesDevelop LOTO procedures for related area equipmentDevelop preventive and predictive maintenance programs for area related equipmentThis is a hands-on role to assist team members during planned and unplanned equipment shutdownsPhysical requirements
Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standardsClimb stairs and walk long distances; balance on uneven terrainAbility to withstand elevated ambient temperature and extreme heatExposure to wet / dust / dusty conditions, vibrations; use hearing protectionWork in a high noise environment with hearing protectionManual dexterity; ability to lift up to 50 lbs with proper techniqueOperate powered industrial vehicles and equipment including overhead cranesSalary
