Primary purpose :
- This role will be that of a safety generalist tasked with providing support to the Contractor Safety program and Projects occurring across the country. This position will enter, track, trend and follow to completion incident investigations for the Operations Support Group. As part of the Project Support group within Contractor Safety, this individual will also travel and spend time on Kinder Morgan projects and facilities usually addressing and resolving issues around Health and Safety policies associated with Contractors.
Essential duties and responsibilities :
Assist with compliance monitoring of contractor programs related to Environmental, Health and Safety requirements (OSHA 1910, 1926) and PSM / RMP programs for applicable assets.Present a positive image of EHS and foster cooperative relationships, motivating and influencing individuals to value and take personal ownership of EHS.Assist with the guidance of Company EHS Teams in terms of improved coordination, focus and effectiveness.Develop work sites to ensure proper EHS equipment is utilized and that EHS procedures are followed.Learn incident root cause analysis (RCA) or systemic cause analysis technique (SCAT) terms, principles, and practices preferred.Focus of oversight on the following areas :Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks in high pressure and time restricted situations.
Ability to recognize, research and resolve gaps identified in the Company EHS process.Other daily, weekly, and monthly duties, and special projects, as assigned.Contractor O&M / Office AssessmentsContractor help sessionsInternal requests and contractor requests for ISN / Contractor Safety Program user trainingProject Support (on-site, program development, inspections)Conduct Contractor Audits (FAN – Field Audit Network)Office activities include :Entering initial incident data into Companies incident management database
Supporting OSG stakeholders by leading and assisting with contractor incident investigations through closureAssist in written documentation of site issues and resolution strategiesAssist in written reports documenting (with pictures) activities, before and after issuesManaging actions to completion with firm timelines, and deliverable datesDevelop and review various reporting data for analysis, measurables, and trendingDevelop incident reports for review and KPI trackingDevelop methods for effective management and maintenance of programs and documentsProvide effective guidance on new program processes and maintenanceThe ability to work with a team, take directions from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.Vastly experienced with Microsoft Office applications.Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills of the successful candidate
