Overview

As a Cyber Security Analyst , you will be a key member of the Detachment-1 Enterprise Cybersecurity team at Los Angles Air Force Base, supporting the Center operations. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate cybersecurity and IT projects, manage end-user systems, and ensure secure, continuous IT operations aligned with Department of the Air Force (DAF) mission objectives.
You will use the NCC Toolbox to verify user accounts, support network access control, and maintain compliance with cybersecurity policies. This role demands a proactive, technically skilled, and customer-focused professional who can balance security enforcement with mission readiness. Occasional after-hours support may be required to address critical issues and sustain operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity & System Oversight
Oversee cybersecurity and IT support projects under the direction of Det-1 Enterprise Cybersecurity.
Verify user accounts and ensure operational readiness using the NCC Toolbox .
Patch network ports and coordinate with appropriate cybersecurity and communications teams to maintain secure connectivity.
Ensure strict adherence to Department of the Air Force cybersecurity and information assurance (IA) policies.
Monitor and report on system security compliance and performance metrics.
Incident Response & Technical Support
Respond to customer incidents via email, phone, ServiceNow, MS Teams, or in-person IAW Service Level Objectives (Appendix G).
Diagnose and resolve IT and cybersecurity issues impacting user access, device performance, or data protection.
Analyze and identify recurring issues, recommend mitigation strategies, and document resolutions.
Manage and update Work Orders within the Support Center Ticketing and Det 1 SharePoint systems.
Maintain an error rate of ≤ 6% per quarter across all support activities.
Proactive System & Device Management
Manage and maintain all unit-specific hardware and software assets, including desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers, monitors, and projectors.
Conduct setup, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems to ensure connectivity to DAF networks, internet, and shared drives.
Proactively ensure devices remain compliant with patching, security baselines, and operational standards.
Reporting, Compliance & Training
Maintain and review Work Orders using SharePoint and generate monthly IT Ticket Metrics Reports , highlighting significant changes (≥ ±10%) before the last Thursday of each month.
Process and manage user account access requests (DD 2875) in accordance with DAF policy.
Provide end-user training on cybersecurity awareness, account management, and IT best practices.
Support the creation and enforcement of IT support policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Collaboration & Communication
Serve as a liaison between Det-1 Enterprise Cybersecurity, unit leadership, and IT Support Center teams.
Maintain detailed documentation of cybersecurity tasks, configurations, and incident resolutions.
Participate in technical and planning meetings to anticipate emerging IT and security requirements.
Qualifications & Required Experience
3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, IT support, or network / system administration (preferably within a DoD environment).
Proficiency in Active Directory , NCC Toolbox , ServiceNow , and SharePoint .
Strong understanding of network connectivity , port management , and access control principles .
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems , endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Professional demeanor suited for working in secure, mission-critical environments.
CompTIA Security+ (required).
CySA+ , Network+ , or ITIL 4 Foundation (preferred).
Security Clearance
Active Secret clearance (or higher) required.
