Med / Surg Tele RN Job Details

Location : Clinton, Maryland 20735 (Washington, D.C. metro area)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 16, 2026

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1590 - $1710

Shift : 4x12-hour day shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 30)

Hours per Week : 48

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend and holidays as needed

Charting System : Cerner EMR

Scrub Color : Ceil Blue (not provided)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Compact RN license or Maryland Registered Nurse license

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience

Previous charge nurse experience required

BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred

Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred

Two (2) supervisor references required

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med / Surg Telemetry unit

Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response / code situations

Administer medications, including Heparin and Insulin, and manage IVs and PICC lines

Deliver wound care, colostomy care, feeding tube management, and pre / post hemodialysis care

Perform blood product administration and phlebotomy as needed

Float to other Med / Surg Telemetry units as required

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain accurate nursing documentation using Cerner EMR

Serve as charge nurse as needed, providing leadership and support to unit staff
