Position Overview :

Help change livesone wagging tail at a time! As our Adoption Application Processor, you'll guide every step of the journey to happy, loving homes for rescue dogs and puppiesfacilitating applications, connecting with adopters, and ensuring a perfect match for each animal. You'll educate future pet parents, create a fun and welcoming experience, maintain up-to-date records, and work closely with our team and community partners to make every adoption story a success. Job Summary :

The primary function of the Adoption Application processor is to facilitate applications received for the adoption of the rescues dogs and puppies, and provide support to volunteers and adopters as needed. This role involves facilitating puppy adoption approval, posting for transports, assigning applications, running applications which includes : Screening potential adopters, reviewing applications, educating owners about proper pet care, and process adoption fees. The lead will work with the Lead Adoption Coordinator to ensure sign off on a medical check list, maintain an up-to-date database, submit training, and alter deposit reimbursement, review animal records with the medical director, ensure that all paperwork is posted and organized according to policy. Lead will effectively communicate the procedures and processes to the Adoptions Department.

Key Responsibilities :

General Accountabilities

  • Screen potential adopters and review applications.
  • Educate owners about proper pet care; process adoption fees.
  • Engage with adopters to assess lifestyle, living arrangements, and experience.
  • Advise and facilitate match assessments and meet-and-greets to ensure suitable homes for puppies.
  • Review and manage adoption applications, counseling candidates with an open, nonjudgmental approach.

    • Education and Counseling

  • Educate adopters on responsible pet ownership : feeding, grooming, exercise, veterinary care, spay / neuter, and vaccines.
  • Match dogs and adopters by evaluating needs, behavior, health, and compatibility.
  • Conduct interviews, application reviews, and home checks when necessary for responsible placements.
  • Facilitate meet-and-greets, playgroups, and tours to introduce dogs to potential adopters.

    • Administration and Follow-Up

  • Complete paperwork, process fees, and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide post-adoption support, including follow-up calls and resources for successful transitions.
  • Serve as an animal care resource, offering guidance before and after adoption.

    • Communication and Relationship Building

  • Maintain timely email communications; follow up on inquiries.
  • Keep adoption and care records updated in rescue systems.
  • Update team members on status of animals and adoptions.
  • Build and sustain relationships with adopters, partners, veterinarians, and the community.

    • Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with leadership to align matches; provide regular updates.
  • Participate in meetings with colleagues and directors as needed.
  • SCR reserves the right to add or change duties at any time based on needs.

    • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working with adoptions in a rescue, either through professional employment or volunteering.
  • Must have experience with puppies and dogs.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook / Instagram), email, and text messaging.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Service-oriented mindset with a commitment to active listening, problem-solving, and maintaining professionalism.

    • Schedule : Full-time position, with flexibility in days and hours

    Pay : $21.00 per hour for 40 hours per week.
