Position : Customs Analyst - Detroit, MI

We are seeking a skilled Customs Analyst with extensive experience in import / export operations, shipment documentation, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain processes within the automotive industry.

Responsibilities :

  • Gather and merge daily broker files and ACE data for reporting purposes, supporting finance operations and eventually taking over the process.
  • Conduct monthly reporting and data analysis to identify duty spikes and investigate discrepancies.
  • Perform data mining for escalations and specific requests from various departments, including sales and purchasing.
  • Investigate data accuracy, duty recovery opportunities, and documentation issues, coordinating with brokers and internal teams.
  • Manage post-entry / duty recovery efforts, monitor filings, and ensure accurate duty refunds allocation.
  • Create periodic reports and presentations for internal meetings and reviews.
  • Engage in continuous process improvement and other activities as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • 5-10 years of import / export experience with global shipments.
  • Strong knowledge of shipment / entry documentation, record keeping, and classification / tariffs.
  • Experience with FTA / COO certificates and eligibility.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and Power Query.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Education & Certifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Customs-related certifications are a plus.
  • Additional Details :

    This is a 12-month contract role with a hybrid work schedule (4 days in-office, 1 remote). Flexible shift timings are available.
