Position : Customs Analyst - Detroit, MI
We are seeking a skilled Customs Analyst with extensive experience in import / export operations, shipment documentation, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain processes within the automotive industry.
Responsibilities :
- Gather and merge daily broker files and ACE data for reporting purposes, supporting finance operations and eventually taking over the process.
- Conduct monthly reporting and data analysis to identify duty spikes and investigate discrepancies.
- Perform data mining for escalations and specific requests from various departments, including sales and purchasing.
- Investigate data accuracy, duty recovery opportunities, and documentation issues, coordinating with brokers and internal teams.
- Manage post-entry / duty recovery efforts, monitor filings, and ensure accurate duty refunds allocation.
- Create periodic reports and presentations for internal meetings and reviews.
- Engage in continuous process improvement and other activities as assigned.
Qualifications :
5-10 years of import / export experience with global shipments.Strong knowledge of shipment / entry documentation, record keeping, and classification / tariffs.Experience with FTA / COO certificates and eligibility.Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and Power Query.Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.Education & Certifications :
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.Customs-related certifications are a plus.Additional Details :
This is a 12-month contract role with a hybrid work schedule (4 days in-office, 1 remote). Flexible shift timings are available.
