Principal Scientist, Bioanalytical Sciences

Description :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Research Associate I / II, Bioanalytical Sciences to join Marianas Preclinical Development organization, advancing personalized medicine and radiopharmaceuticals. This laboratory-based position will play a key role in conducting LC-MS-based bioanalysis to support pharmacokinetic (PK), in vitro ADME, and proteomics studies across preclinical programs, focusing on sample preparation, method execution, and data collection. The successful candidate will contribute directly to the development of novel therapeutics by generating high-quality quantitative and qualitative bioanalytical data.

Illustrative Breadth of Responsibilities :

  • Perform routine quantitative bioanalysis of small molecules in a variety of biological matrices (e.g., plasma, serum, cell lysate, and / or tissue) for downstream LC-MS analysis
  • Support method development and qualification, as well as routine sample analysis for pharmacokinetics, metabolite profiling and stability assessments
  • Assist with proteomics sample preparation workflows, including protein digestion, peptide cleanup, and LC-MS-based quantification
  • Contribute to in vitro ADME method development and optimization as necessary and appropriate
  • Operate and maintain LC-MS / MS instrumentation for quantitative bioanalysis, evaluate assay and instrument performance, ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain a well-documented electronic laboratory notebook (ELNs) with complete and accurate experimental details, sample records and data entries
  • Work collaboratively with bioanalytical scientists and cross-functional teams to ensure timely generation and delivery of high-quality data
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintain compliance with safety regulations, and adhere to safe laboratory practices

Requirements / Skills :

  • Bachelors degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or relevant scientific discipline with 2 5+ years of experience working in an R&D environment in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environment; Masters degree with 1+ year of relevant R&D experience.
  • Solid experience with LC-MS / MS sample preparation / extraction techniques (e.g. protein precipitation, SPE, LLE, etc.) for small molecules from biological matrices (plasma, serum, tissue, etc.) is required
  • Strong background in Bioanalytical assay development, qualification, and validation is required
  • Familiarity with PK and ADME workflows is preferred
  • Understanding of chromatographic principles and mass spectrometry fundamentals is preferred but not required
  • Experience with automated liquid handling for high-throughput sample preparation is a plus
  • Experience with proteomics sample preparation workflows is a plus
  • Commitment to maintain data integrity through strict adherence to standardized procedures and relevant compliance requirements
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to radiation safety regulations and guidelines is required
  • Comfortable handling radioactivity and follow proper ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) technique Strong communication skills, with motivation to work effectively and cooperatively with others, and to establish and maintain good working relationship
