Senior Accountant

The University Shared Services Department is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform a broad range of accounting and financial analysis responsibilities to assure effective and compliant organizational / department / unit operations. Position will be responsible for the supervision of financial activities in the University Shared Services department. Position will also be responsible for working with assigned departments to perform financial business activities in an environment of excellent customer service. The position will use accounting skills to perform financial support functions for the departments, provide departments with accurate and timely information to make decisions, and ensure efficient and effective transaction processing. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.

Duties to Include :

• Review and approve expenditures to the appropriate fund and institutional accounts to ensure proper reporting on the University's financial reports
• Serve as knowledge expert in responding to USS staff and campus inquiries regarding appropriateness of expenses on departmental accounts.
• Review University transactions, complex and routine, for compliance with Regents, University, and Department guidelines for 100% accuracy in a timely manner.
• Provide system and policy training to faculty, staff, and students on a frequent basis and recommend and assist in developing training solutions.

Location : 100% Remote within Iowa

Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm

Pay : $46,450 to commensurate
