Employee Relations Partner - REMOTE at Ryder System, Inc.

Job Description

This position supports employees in both Canada and the US. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of Canadian employment laws and have direct experience supporting employees in Canada.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct and participate in all phases of local HR investigations, developing investigation plans, conducting fair, neutral, and timely investigations in accordance with company policies and procedures and federal / state regulations. Oversee daily administration of reported concerns within ServiceNow and Navex case management systems.
  • Manage employee relations matters by providing supervisors and managers with policy interpretation regarding conflict resolutions, disciplinary actions, and termination procedures.
  • Partner with Operational Management / Business HR / Labor Relations / Legal Teams to create solutions to complex Employee Relations situations.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality Human Resources support for the company through performance management, mitigating risk in legal compliance, administration of relevant clauses / provisions within union Collective Bargaining Agreements (as applicable), employee communication, and collaboration with COEs.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and employment legislation within region.
  • Travel as needed to company sites within supported region.
  • Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to conduct sensitive investigations and identify violations of federal, state and local regulations and / or violations of company policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to remain impartial during investigations.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to upskill and train on technology and functional aspects of case management systems.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, organizational management, law or equivalent major; or additional four (4) years of required experience.
  • Five (5) years or more in HR compliance, HR generalist or employee relations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite. Intermediate.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Intermediate.
  • Travel

    Pay Type : Salaried

    Minimum Pay Range : $75,000.00

    Maximum Pay Range : $90,000.00
