As the Senior Vendor Management Program Manager focused on Strategic Partnerships, you will be responsible for the development, maturation, and ongoing execution of Medtronic's IT strategic partnerships program. Working directly with Global IT leadership, internal customers, and our most impactful technology suppliers, this position will create value by leveraging the resources, roadmaps, and intellectual property of our partners in a forward-looking, opportunistic way. By connecting Medtronic's strategy and unmet needs to the innovative capabilities of our partner community, this position will create ROI in two ways : first, through supplier segmentation, standards, and scorecards to ensure the VMO is objectively measuring success; and second, by creating a bridge to value-added elements (pilots, labs, SMEs, training) and transformational ideas (digital, AI, automation) which will disrupt and transform the status quo. This is a high-impact role with the expectation of finding and developing partner use cases and opportunities capable of driving significant gains in revenue, margin, efficiency, and productivity.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a technical or business-related discipline
  • 7+ years working in some combination of IT operations, procurement, or vendor management; where measuring, managing, and influencing supplier outcomes was a core part of the position
  • 7+ years working with large, strategic IT suppliers, preferably across a variety of commodity areas, i.e. Hardware, Software, Network, and IT Services
  • 7+ years creating and driving vendor strategy, aligning customer requirements with third-party services, delivering successful outcomes via internal and external teams
  • Experience delivering programmatic vendor management and / or strategic programs at scale; comfortable working across a matrixed organization to create templates, standards, and program elements to be implemented by a global VMO and its stakeholders
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, specifically as it relates to working with internal and external teams to maintain effective relationships and long-term partnerships
  • Ability to influence - both internally and externally - using an objective, data-driven approach to reach the right solution
  • Strong presentation skills - in support of both monthly recurring reporting and ad hoc strategy and analysis that must be communicated to internal customers
  • Intellectually curious and entrepreneurial - always looking for new approaches to problems, and new opportunities for improvement
  • Optimistic and solution focused - brings a positive outlook to the team, with a belief that we can always find a better, faster, cheaper way to deliver vs. the status quo

    Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD) : $156,000.00 - $234,000.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification / education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

    The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week : Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance / reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
