Firefighter I and Firefighter II performs protective service work in fire suppression, rescue operations, hazardous materials operations, and emergency medical services. Responds to calls for service, delivers public education, attends required / mandatory training, and maintains a positive image to the public while maintaining response readiness.
Minimum Qualifications for Firefighter I :
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Valid NC driver's license and good driving record
- Must pass physical endurance and agility test and written exam.
- NC / IFSAC Firefighter I & II certification or ability to obtain the certification within one year of employment
Minimum Qualifications for Firefighter II :

Written Exam Tuesday, November 4, 2025 you will be notified of your specific time once your application has been approved.Physical Agility Test Thursday & Friday November 13, 14, 2025, your appointment time for that will be given at time of written exam.In Person Panel Interviews Thursday & Friday November 20, 21, 2025, and you will receive your date / time for the interview after completing agility test.Work Schedule : Modified 24 / 48. 53 hours per week. Paid bi-weekly.
