Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant WANTED – NO FLUFF, JUST FURIOUS PASSION!

Primary Responsibilities (What You Really Bring To This Role)
- Provide an incredible veterinary experience to every client and patient who walks through our doors. We mean it.
- A fearless attitude, and a commitment learning more and growing your skills and abilities. DAILY.
- Perform (or learn) venipuncture, diagnostics, anesthesia, dentals, ultrasounds, radiography, administration of vaccines, medications, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian, large animal assistance.... you know.... the "real tech stuff".
- Ensure high quality animal care, coordinating intake, appointments, medical care, and efficient daily work flow.
- Coordinate the scheduling of appointments for exams, spays / neuters, medical visits, and emergency care.
- Create an environment and experiences for staff and clients that fosters engagement and commitment to the organization.
- Participate in client education and discussion about dentals, diagnostics and euthanasia, providing an informative and compassion-filled experience
- Ensure all areas within the hospital are clean, organized, free of clutter, and always present a professional appearance to clients and visitors.
- Partner with other staff members to share accurate information in a cohesive, engaged work space. We're talking communication skills sharper than a scalpel blade.
- Assist with content for website, social media and other marketing outlets. Let your creative juices flow.
- Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with the public, clients, staff, vendors, veterinarians, donors, local businesses, volunteers, interns, animal control, state and federal authorities, and other enabling partners.
- Attend continuing education programs to advance veterinary and animal welfare knowledge
- Keep a calm hand and a huge heart (bonus if you can wrangle a fractious cat or a bucking bull and still keep your cool)
Physical and Other Work Demands
May be required to work additional hours outside of standard schedule, non-standard hours, including varying work shifts, nights, weekends and holidays, based on workload and as the operation dictates.Physical demands including lifting and moving animals, cages, food, etc up to 50 pounds.Exposure to dangerous, diseased, frightened, and injured animals, as well as exposure to potentially harmful chemicals and drugsIndoor and outdoor work in all weather conditionsEmotional demands including dealing with issues like euthanasia and animal abuse / neglectZero tolerance for drama (yes, we really mean ZERO)Qualifications
