The Shipping & Logistics Operations Manager is a broad position that oversees the shipping and related warehouse efficiency in all SuperMoss warehouses. The position is based in Santa Paula, but focused on maintaining the overall operation by coordinating each Warehouse Shipping Department and Shipping Office Administration staff in each location with the help of the local management. The prime candidate will able to hit the ground running by knowing how to do the work required by him / her in each warehouse. The role will also work closely with the Santa Barbara office personnel, CEO and General Manager to improve daily operations, train, and stabilize the company contributing to overall efficiency. Furthermore, the Shipping & Logistics Operations Manager will brainstorm to initiate and complete projects on how to improve the business by highlighting areas of loss, inefficiency, confusion, redundancy, and gaps in service to our customers, both external and internal.
This role is a key member of the business model in creating an efficient and reliable operation at each facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing the shipping office operations for ALL large accounts
- Maintain a quality of service in each SuperMoss location (CA, PA, GA, AR)
- Hold other warehouse managers accountable and provide coaching on specific areas of improvement
- Create and update a standard training manual and ensure each employee is trained
- Train, hire, terminate, re-hire and work with each Shipping Office Manager in each location
- Work with Warehouse Managers to update policies and implement new procedures
- Clean, Organize, and Maintain the digital files on the shared server
- Create organizational tools and utilize Sage100 efficiently to run a smooth operation
- Conduct and organize Spring Demand Planning to prepare for peak season
- Analyze sales and shipping data for planning and forecasting purposes.
- Learn and understand the machinery, procedures, & tools used in each location for manufacturing
- Thoroughly understand each task in the warehouse and possess the ability to step in if needed
- Keep updated on major projects for customers and large account POs
- Develop "KPIs" and standardize reporting systems within each warehouse
- Hire specialized help to complete projects or warehouse goals
- Track important warehouse dates especially for fire, safety, business, and legal compliance
- Ensure basic and obvious OSHA guidelines are met
- Install preventative measures to ensure employee safety, HR security, and OSHA compliance
- Access cameras in remote locations
- Work with each warehouse on local projects for large customers, new product launches, and building repairs
- Initiate warehouse maintenance or improvement projects. Submit proposals for CEO review
- Report warehouse performance to CEO and participate in strategic company planning and operations meetings
- Travel to locations if needed
- Participate in technology and automation projects from an operational perspective
- Implement new technology and automation projects once finalized
- Source competitive company vendors in trucking
- Negotiate trucking and small parcel contracts
- Ensure chargebacks are disputed and the root cause is addressed with lasting changes
- Dispute chargebacks received with organized formal letters and documentation
- Work with Warehouse Manager to coordinate production and inventory stock
- Assist in Sales Functions such as tradeshows and working with sales representatives.

At least five years of experience or equivalent training.Ability to meet goals in an environment with freedom of direction : a self-starter.Previous warehouse and computer experience is a must.Ability to use Microsoft Windows and MS Office software.Proficiency in MS Excel is instrumental to this job.A strong understanding of business fundamentals.Candidates should be :

Education : A minimum of a high school diploma, or GED; College degree preferred
Experience : Minimum of 3 years in a managerial shipping role
Compensation details : 90000-140000 Yearly Salary
