Patient Transporter - Hospital - (Casual, 8 Hours / Week)

The Patient Transporter provides physical movement of patients and patient related materials, supplies, and equipment within a medical complex. This individual has responsibilities involving indirect and direct patient care by transporting patients to and from appointments utilizing equipment based on patient needs. The size of patients, beds, and ancillary equipment will vary with every patient transfer. The Patient Transporter can expect to be in physical activity for most of the day and will walk a large portion of the campus in a workday. The Patient Transporter is responsible for delivery specimens to designated locations. The Patient Transporter will be trained to work in both the hospital and clinical setting.

Job Qualifications

Education :

Minimum Required : Completed Junior year of High School

Preferred / Optional : None

Experience :

Minimum Required : None

Preferred / Optional : Patient transport, customer service or public relations experience. Demonstrated proficiency with verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology.

Certifications / Licenses :

Minimum Required : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Preferred / Optional : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
