Inventory Accountant / Analyst

As the Inventory Accountant / Analyst, you will ensure accurate financial records by reconciling inventory data, processing freight costs, and performing GL entries and reconciliations. You will be performing physical inventory counts, tracking freight invoices, recording journal entries for month-end close, preparing variance analysis, and supporting audits to maintain regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. This requires 5 days onsite in Loveland, CO.

Inventory Accounting :

  • Reconcile the inventory sub-ledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate and support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on inventory costs, variances, and slow-moving or obsolete items.
  • Ensure accurate valuation and tracking of inventory, including raw materials and finished goods.
  • Review and process inventory adjustments; support warehouse teams in correcting count discrepancies.

Freight Accounting :

  • Review and process invoices related to duties, freight, and other shipping costs.
  • Prepare accruals for inventory and freight costs not yet invoiced.
  • Analyze documentation and data from cross-functional teams to validate freight and duty charges.
  • General Ledger (GL) Accounting :

  • Prepare journal entries, including month-end and year-end accruals and adjustments.
  • Perform reconciliations of GL accounts, with a focus on inventory and freight-related accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Collaboration & Compliance :

  • Partner with warehouse, purchasing, manufacturing, and transportation teams to ensure data accuracy and process alignment.
  • Provide documentation and analysis to support internal and external audits.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in inventory and accounting workflows.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in inventory management, general ledger (GL), and freight accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAP S / 4HANA, and various accounting and inventory management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset and a proven ability to thrive in team-oriented environments.
  • Variety of workplace arrangements including hybrid, remote, onsite.
  • Compensation : $50-$55 / hr. (DOE)
