Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned :

  • Develop and implement pricing and contract strategies for Integrated Distribution Networks (IDN), Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and Aggregations that are consistent with corporate objectives and support the Enterprise sales strategies.
  • Advise commercial stakeholders on pricing and contracting strategies that drive revenue growth and offer long-term contractual sustainability.
  • Partner with business partners in pricing and marketing to recommend pricing and contracting approaches to new product introductions, including identifying target customers for early adoption of new technologies.
  • Support the contracting needs of the assigned Enterprise targets. This includes executing on pricing strategies, strategy development in response to customer pricing requests and complying with the price governance process. Complete hospital requests in a timely manner in accordance with Medtronic pricing strategies, terms, and conditions.
  • Provide robust and accurate pricing analysis. Negotiate pricing under parameters as set forth by management in conjunction with Sales, Legal and Marketing. Provide rationale behind pricing approvals to help facilitate positive outcomes in pricing discussions.
  • Support proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Act as a liaison between Enterprise Accounts & Services and the Operating Units.
  • Support the Commercial Transformation big deal process
  • Provide comprehensive business reviews, enable programs and contracts to drive revenue, monitoring pricing integrity, and protecting margin will be key responsibilities.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to develop strategy and tactics for key business initiatives across different functional areas.
  • Support quarterly business review efforts with regional offices and local sales teams as needed.

SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM : Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and / or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education.

DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS

Autonomy : Recognized expert, managing large projects or processes. Exercises considerable latitude in determining deliverables of assignments, with limited oversight from manager. Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level specialists.

Organizational Impact : Contributes to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy with a significant impact on work group results. May manage large projects or processes that span outside of immediate job area.

Innovation and Complexity : Problems and issues faced are difficult, moderately complex and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation. Develops solutions to moderately complex problems, and / or makes moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products independently to enhance performance of job area. Implements solutions to problems.

Communication and Influence : Represents organization as a primary contact for specific projects and initiatives; communicates with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels. May negotiate with others to reach understanding or agreement, and influence decision-making.

Leadership and Talent Management : Typically provides guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. Typically manages major / moderately complex projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products, at times acting as a team leader.

Must Have : High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience in Contracts or Pricing or equivalent experience (OR Associate's Degree with 6+ years experience OR Bachelors Degree with 4+ years experience).

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD) : $105,600.00 - $158,400.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
