About the position\n\nResponsibilities\n

  • Works with members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient, throughout their surgical experience.\n
  • Maintains a friendly, positive and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staff.\n
  • Assists in patient education during all phases of their experience in the ASC.\n
  • Assists in assuring that the equipment is functioning properly.\n
  • Monitors the use of all supplies during patient stay.\n
  • Assists with inventory control and stock accordingly.\n
  • Documents appropriately the care that is given to the patient.\n
  • Maintains continuing education to meet state requirements and keep current with health care.\n
  • Displays professionalism at work and in the community, as a representative of Denver Eye Surgeons.\n
  • Identifies actual and potential risks to patients and others and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety.\n
  • Assists in Pre-Op / Post-op Phone-calls.\n
  • Communicates with other health care team members to assure continuity of care in the ASC.\n
  • Credentialed to receive all patients in PACU including MACs, pediatric and adult generals after surgery.\n
  • Assesses, evaluates, and documents on the patient.\n
  • Monitors the patient continuously during their recovery phase.\n
  • Provides discharge instructions to the patient and their caregiver, verifying confirmation prior to discharge.\n
  • Incorporates a sense of wellness by allowing the patient's family to be reunited with them as soon as feasible and encouraging self-care by the patient.\n
  • Prepares for emergency situations by knowing the Policies and Procedures of the ASC.\n
  • Monitors that Universal Precautions are maintained.\n
  • Completes all necessary documentation on the Nursing Notes record and all patient records.\n
  • Completes other duties as assigned.\n\nRequirements\n
  • Communicates effectively and has the ability to work compatibly with all physicians and staff of the Eye Center.\n
  • Champions the mission statement of Panorama Eyecare.\n
  • Possesses strong organizational skills, is efficient and understands the importance of efficiency and cost effectiveness in an ambulatory surgery setting.\n
  • Knowledge of clinical skills.\n
  • Ability to make quick assessments of patients and handles emergency situations effectively and quickly.\n
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.\n
  • Maintains a professional demeanor, including dress and work conversation.\n
  • Flexible in working hours.\n\nNice-to-haves\n
  • Previous experience in EMR preferred.\n
  • Preferred accomplishments include experience in Ophthalmology Surgery.\n\nBenefits\n
  • Compensation for this role will be \$42 - \$46 an hour based on experience / certification.
