Your Role on the Team
The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Inclusive Excellence (AVC-IE) serves as key strategist with the Vice Chancellor for IE in initiating and developing new strategic direction, long- and short-range plans, and innovative initiatives. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, the AVC-IE assists in implementing the Vice Chancellor's vision and goals for the Office of Inclusive Excellence, working in close collaboration with senior university officials. The AVC-IE plays a critical support role in strategic planning, decision-making, and execution of decisions, serving as a member of the Vice Chancellor's senior leadership group and other advisory groups as assigned. The AVC-IE advises Vice Chancellor, serves as liaison with other senior university officials, represents the Vice Chancellor in public forums, and coordinates internal and externals partnerships.
Represents the Vice Chancellor in all manner of situations with tact and diplomacy and requires a dedication to consultation and consensus building. The AVC-IE performs a wide range of duties requiring sensitivity, independent judgment, organizational skills, flexibility, and strict confidentiality. Must have the ability to articulate the vision, mission and values of the Office of Inclusive Excellence as well as interpret and implement procedures, processes, and policies. Develops, coordinates, and leads a variety of initiatives either on behalf of the Vice Chancellor or from the assigned portfolio of responsibility. Coordinates small-to-large scale events, such as speaker series, conferences, etc.
Has high level authority to make official commitments and to broadly represent the VC-IE's interests across the organization. Responds to issues with little or no precedence. May manage and administer independent IE programs, typically with organization-wide impact.
Establishes diversity, equity and inclusion objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to others. Responsible for managing, preparing, administering, and directing resources. Reviews and approves recommendations for diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility programs. Involved in developing, modifying and executing policies that affect immediate operation(s) and has a campus-wide effect. Oversees inclusive excellence programs and staff. Manages the coordination of the activities of all university programs, with overall responsibility for results, including costs, methods, staffing and human resources-related actions.
Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of inclusive excellence principles and practices in an educational setting or a large, complex organization.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $147,250- $180,000 (Annual).
