Telecommunications Maintenance Technician

Summary / Objective

Possesses general working knowledge of equipment and safety procedures required in the construction, repair and maintenance of towers and accompanying structures.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Perform tower construction and testing activities including installing antennas, mounting hardware, installing coax and connectors, grounding, testing, positioning, and optimizing antennas and lines.
• Work with basic hand tools and safety equipment.
• Ability to utilize telecom test gear knowledge.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
• Basic electronic knowledge.
• Utilize PPE in compliance with EHS requirements and industry standards.
• Assist with testing of new and existing equipment, which may include sweep, PIM, or fiber testing.
• Maintain OSHA safety requirements at all times with the ability to follow EHS procedures and protocol.
• Installation of RF and antenna system components such as antennas, TMA's, RRU's, diplexers, coax, hybrids, grounding, supports, weatherproofing, connectors, hardware, etc.
• Understanding and ability to process schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and read construction drawings.
• Coordinate with other technicians and engineers to ensure proper system operation.
• Responsible for Capstan operations, Crane / signaling, Rigging, Steel work (hanging boom, antenna etc.) and shoot azimuths (Front, Back and Side).
• Other duties as assigned.
