Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare, maintain, and monitor sterile fields and instruments for all Cath Lab procedures including peripheral interventions, venograms and vein ablations.
- Assist physicians with catheter insertions, guide wire advancement, stent and balloon deployments, and other interventional devices.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and adherence to infection control standards at all times.
- Operate and maintain equipment and instrumentation used during procedures.
- Perform pre-procedure and post-procedure room set-up and clean-up, including restocking of supplies and quality control of instruments.
- Participate in emergency interventions including STEMI, code blue, and vascular access emergencies.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with physicians, nurses, and radiologic technologists to ensure seamless procedural flow.
- Document all instruments, supplies, and implants used during the procedure per facility protocol.
- Support radiation safety and patient positioning in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in training and orientation of new team members as needed.
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent military training.Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.BLS required; ACLS preferred (or must obtain within 6 months of hire).1–2 years of experience in Cath Lab, cardiovascular OR, or interventional radiology setting preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, interventional devices, and sterile technique.Ability to stay calm in high-acuity, fast-paced procedural environments.Excellent critical thinking and multitasking skills.Proficient in handling surgical instrumentation and maintaining accurate documentation.Working Conditions :
Occasional exposure to blood and body fluids, radiation, and infectious diseases.Must be able to stand for long periods and wear lead for extended durations.Rotating shifts, and weekend availability required.Benefits :
