Janitorial Worker

The janitorial worker will be responsible for cleaning hospital rooms, focusing primarily on discharges, which involves sanitizing rooms between patient stays. The role requires significant walking, so candidates must be comfortable being on their feet all day. Responsibilities include wiping down equipment, emptying trash, sweeping floors, dusting, cleaning up spills, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces as needed. Attention to detail is crucial given the multiple floors to manage.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize hospital rooms, especially after patient discharges.
  • Wipe down medical equipment and surfaces.
  • Empty trash bins and handle waste disposal.
  • Sweep and mop floors, ensuring a clean environment.
  • Dust and maintain cleanliness of all assigned areas.
  • Utilize hospital-issued iPhones to receive daily assignments and access cleaning tutorials.
  • Learn the hospital's floor plan in a reasonable amount of time.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with smartphone technology for receiving tasks and accessing tutorials.
  • Comfortable with extensive walking and being on feet for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Experience in janitorial work, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • GED or high school diploma preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution with a willingness to transition to healthcare is considered.
  • Commitment to a rotating schedule, including weekends and major holidays.

    Work Environment

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract position based out of Port Matilda, Pennsylvania.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00 / hr.
