Job Description\n

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring strong ECG interpretation and immediate newborn care skills, with a FL or compact license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a high-risk Labor & Delivery and Antenatal unit within a hospital setting
  • Unit features 19 labor rooms, 12 antepartum rooms, 4 recovery rooms, 8 triage rooms, and 3 operating suites
  • Handles approximately 4,000 deliveries annually
  • Level 2 trauma center with comprehensive stroke and chest pain designations
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 2 : 1
  • Duties include circulating and recovering C-sections
  • 12-hour day shifts required
  • No call required, but must pick up one extra shift per 4-week cycle
  • Scheduling on opposite shifts may occur based on unit needs
  • Responsibility includes immediate newborn care and fetal monitoring interpretation
  • Orientation sessions held every Monday
  • Local candidates accepted if not residing in Tallahassee
  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
  • Must be willing to float within department as needed

  • Active FL or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery required; LDRP or Mother Baby experience preferred
  • Certifications required : AHA-BLS, AHA-ACLS, NRP, AWHONN-Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • Strong ECG interpretation and immediate newborn care skills required
