Job Title : Contract Deposition Attorney

Location : Downtown Dallas

Starts : ASAP

Hourly Rate : $50 / hour

Hours : Up to 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday

Position Type : Full-time, Contract, In-Office

Our downtown Dallas law firm seeks a reliable and detail-oriented Contract Attorney to assist in defending Plaintiff depositions in ongoing litigation matters. This full-time contract position is ideal for an attorney with prior experience in taking and defending depositions. The Contract Attorney will be responsible for serving clients by evaluating case details, preparing Plaintiffs for their depositions, and defending those Plaintiffs\' depositions. The Contract Attorney will work closely with other lawyers in the firm for training and will be expected to keep the team informed about case developments and provide summaries of each completed deposition.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to all clients and maintain timely communication with clients and co-counsel.
  • Work with team members to maintain case strategy and consistency.
  • Proactively evaluate case details and evidence to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Prepare clients for deposition testimony.
  • Defend client depositions.
  • Provide a detailed summary of the client\'s performance after each deposition.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and appropriateness of the questions posed during the deposition.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Law Degree from an Accredited University and passed the Bar Exam on the first attempt.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas (required).
  • Licensed to practice in Missouri (plus).
  • 1-2 years of litigation experience with a plaintiff's firm.
  • Prior experience in defending or handling depositions (required).
  • Maintains an impeccable professional reputation with a positive outlook.
  • Values teamwork and thrives in a collaborative office environment.
  • Appreciates defined processes and procedures that lead to successful outcomes.
  • Available full-time, Monday through Friday.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
