Allegheny Health Network
Provides and coordinates administrative and clinical leadership for equipment and instrumentation aspects of patient care for use across multi-disciplinary units within the facility in order to achieve quality patient outcomes. Major responsibilities of this position include evaluating and management program development.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Ensures hospital compliance with infection control practices with regard to sterilization and storage practices and assures compliance with local, DOH, national, professional and manufacturer's regulations and best practices. (10%)
- Plans, directs and evaluates overall function in the department. Promotes quality, service excellence, competencies and performance improvement initiatives in the department. (40%)
- Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care equipment and instrumentation in the department. (30%)
- Monitors and adheres to annual hospital operating budget. (5%)
- Coordinates preventative maintenance and repair program for instrumentation and equipment for physician satisfaction and quality patient care (5%)
- Responsible for the promotion of staff development through recruitment and retention activities. (5%)
- Acts on behalf of patients and family members to ensure care that is safe and timely and has consideration for values, diversity and human rights. (5%)
Qualifications :
NRCST, CRCST, or Surgical Technician certification required or completion of certification within 1 yearFive years of experience in an applicable area of expertise. Previous management experience.In depth knowledge of sterilization protocols and infection control principles.Member of IAHCSMM.CPR American Heart Association.Preferred :
