I. Job Summary
The basic function of the Instrument Technician is to install, troubleshoot, clean, inspect, calibrate, and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and distributive control equipment throughout the facility in a safe and professional manner.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned :
- Operate and monitor equipment and material flow—including infeed, washline, or extrusion lines—adjusting settings and performing basic maintenance to ensure safe, continuous production.
- Performs preventive, repair, and maintenance procedures safely and professionally with minimal supervision in accordance with Company Work Rules, Policies and Procedures.
- Initiates and completes work-orders and requisitions and documents all critical and or pertinent information on a routine basis.
- Takes proactive measures to address improvement opportunities.
- Assumes increased levels of responsibility when required or requested. Performs lesser skilled duties when required or requested.
- Completes the training programs within the time frame prescribed.
- Inspect product and materials for quality, reporting any issues or non-conformances to leadership or the quality team.
- Support team operations, independently run equipment (infeed, washline, or extrusion), use required PPE, assist with maintenance, and adapt to varying tasks or weather.
- Follows standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards, and report them to the Shift Supervisor immediately. Reads, understands, and applies information such as, lockout / tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; as well as communicate clearly whether using in-situ intercom system, two-way radio or face to face.

A. Education and Experience
Education : High School Diploma or GED (accredited)Experience : Zero (0) to two (2) years of related experience (in addition to education requirements)Preferred : 3-5 years of related operational maintenance experienceB. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Licenses required as necessary to comply State, Environmental, and / or Federal regulatory agencies or if Electrician, licensed as necessary by State, Environmental, and / or Federal regulatory agencies.Benefits
