Quality Assurance Engineer Job Summary

Ensures compliance with standards, identifies issues, recommends solutions, and creates quality documentation.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives regarding quality issues and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Perform supplier audits.
  • Collaborate with the team as necessary in performing and generating 5 Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, PFEMA, CP, SPC, MSA)
  • Generate, document, and submit FAIR.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects as needed, representing quality assurance and the customer.
  • Serve as the primary quality assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Review suppliers' purchase orders and establish supplier quality requirements.
  • Compile, write, and deliver training material on quality standards and activities if necessary.

Position Skills And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (desired).
  • Ability to solve routine design and engineering tasks with some assistance.
  • Basic understanding of engineering and mathematics principles.
  • Understand interpretation of drawings, specifications, blueprints, etc.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization abilities, and strong project management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies.
  • Ability to work with and manage complexity / change.
  • Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Familiar with SPC, Six Sigma, Process Capability Study.
  • Experience with Continuous improvement.
  • Ability to use MS Office Tools such as Word, Excel, SAP, and MiniTab.
