Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : greet guests, respond to questions / concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and promote a guest-centric shopping experience.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases / returns using POS, ensure accurate transactions and top-notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote GameStop benefits (e.g., title reservations, trade-in, Pro Rewards) to guests.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with guest service expectations; input feedback into HR systems in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening / closing shifts; uphold company / store policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics.
- Schedule and supervise store associates to maintain optimal guest service; manage staffing levels and breaks in accordance with guidelines.
- Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify pay for associates.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct security measures at closing as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support sales, profit, and shrink goal attainment and complete required administrative duties.
- Perform stock / stocking duties, inventory counts, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS totals; complete closeout paperwork and ensure sufficient cash and deposits.
- Coordinate shipment verification, discrepancies, cycles counts, and stock pulls as needed.
- Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; report injuries promptly per guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining store records / files and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of the Store Manager; adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.Retail management experience preferred (minimum 6 months) and / or 2 years of retail sales / guest service / management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills; provide genuine assistance to every guest.Clear verbal and written communication; English language required; bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently or in a team, and meet performance objectives.Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days / week availability.Reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle pressure; capable of standing for long periods and light physical activities (e.g., lifting up to 30 lbs).Basic math skills and ability to operate POS; complete required paperwork properly.Job descriptions are subject to change at any time based on business needs.
