Senior Welder, Precision Finishing Technician - C Shift

Long Beach, CA

SENIOR WELDER, PRECISION FINISHING TECHNICIAN - C SHIFT

Based out of Rocket Lab Headquarters in Long Beach, California, the Welder, Precision Finishing Technician will weld and fabricate various fluid systems and sub-assembly components for the Rutherford and Archimedes Rocket engines.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO :

  • Follow procedures to set up and operate welding systems.
  • Weld assemblies according to work orders, blueprints and verbal instructions.
  • Follow blueprints and meet product specifications within tight tolerances.

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A SENIOR WELDER

  • 7+ years of experience in welding with a focus on advanced techniques.
  • Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, Shipbuilding, or Construction industries.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ISO, D17.1).
  • Proficient in various welding techniques, including manual GTAW (TIG), OTW (Orbital Tube Welding), Laser Welding, and Lathe Welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Experience with materials such as Inconel, Monel, stainless steel (300-400 series); experience with 3D printed parts and exotic alloys.
  • Experience welding on thicknesses 0.011 - 0.250 inches.

    • THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE :

  • Metal fabrication and assembly experience.
  • Deburring and pencil grinding experience.
  • Welding fit-up capability and support for grinding department.

    • CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certifications in specialized welding processes (TIG, brazing).
  • Certifications for materials (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, Inconel).

    • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Willing to work C Shift (Friday – Sunday 5 : 00am - 3 : 30pm).
  • Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and / or weekends as needed.
  • Repetitive assembly tasks, lifting, bending, standing, and other physical requirements as described.
  • Must be able to move repetitively, bend or twist, and handle tools and parts.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.

    • Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on knowledge, education, and experience.

    Base salary is one component of our total rewards package, which may include equity and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, vacation, holidays, 401(k) with company match, and additional perks).

    BASE PAY RANGE (CA Only)

    $35 - $45 USD
