Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum) : $64.350 - $83.040 - $101.720
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
The Manager of Information Systems (IS) Training and Education provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for enterprise-wide Epic and IS training programs at Sharp HealthCare. This role oversees comprehensive training programs including new hire onboarding, environment and related materials to support end-to-end-workflow training, proficiency and mastery programs, training-related upgrade preparation, coordination and delivery of vendor-supported educational training programs such as Epic University (EpicU). The Manager directs a team of trainers and educators, serves as the primary liaison to vendor partners (including Epic University / Epic End-User Training Services), and partners with operational, clinical, and informatics leaders to achieve high-quality, efficient, and scalable training outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 5 Years recent experience with development of systems and application training programs to include utilization of online training platforms.
- 2 Years Recent experience in EMR training operations.
- 2 Years leadership experience.
- 2 Years experience with Epic.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Education, Healthcare Informatics, Instructional Design, or related field.Experience with Epic onboarding, continuous education and upgrade training processes. Experience with Epic proficiency and mastery programs.Other Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education, Healthcare Informatics, Instructional Design, or related field; or 4 years of relevant experience in systems and applications or training programs may substitute for degree - REQUIREDEssential Functions
Strategic Leadership and Team Management Lead enterprise-wide training program design and implementation. Develop training standards, policies, and procedures aligned with industry best practices. Collaborate with Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO), system informatics, as well as entity-based training and informatics leadership on development and execution of training strategy. Manage and direct the ISD training team to include hiring, evaluating, coaching, counseling, and assuring that performance appraisals are completed on time. Plans for the efficient and effective use of staff skill sets and workloads. Other duties as assigned by Informatics leadership.Training Operations and Environment Management Oversee training environment operations and integrity. Support and coordinate technology training for Information Systems related activities and applications as assigned. Manage new hire training logistics through Epic's online training platform (Epic University / EpicU), Sharp-developed content or other vendor-managed offerings. Coordinate training schedules and resource allocation. Ensure environment fidelity and training materials reflect production workflows.Post-Live Training and Mastery Programs Develop efficiency training programs and coordinate advanced training. Implement and coordinate mastery training opportunities including vendor-offered efficiency programs. Plan and execute post-live reporting training. Monitor user efficiency using standard reporting tools.Upgrade and Change Management Prepare training strategies for Epic, other IT systems, or services upgrades as assigned. Lead training-related change management initiatives. Develop communication strategies for updates and features. Ensure training readiness for Epic and other vendor upgrades / releases through coordinated timeline management.Stakeholder Collaboration and Quality Assurance Maintain collaboration with various technical services such as Epic End-User Training Services leadership. Establish standards for instructional quality following best practices. Serve as escalation point for training issues. Monitor adoption metrics and implement improvements using standard reporting tools.Professional Competency Completes system certifications per department requirements. Completion of TED100 Overview of Training for Training Managers certification is required within 90 days of hire date. Completion of TED300 Training Environment Build certification is preferred within 6 months of hire date.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
