Position Title : Junior Chemical Engineer
Administratively Reports To : Vice President – Engineering
Location : Scottsdale, AZ (Company Headquarters)
Scope of Responsibility :
As the Junior Chemical Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for the Pilot Plant R&D facility, design, engineering, project management and technical direction for equipment, and engineering process design. This role will be required to develop customer recommendations and assessments, coordinate product development and improvements, assist in technical / equipment proposals and cost estimates for various customers while working with vendors and suppliers on domestic and international levels.
Responsibilities / Duties :
- Manage and conduct R&D activities for the company at Scottsdale, AZ facility, including authoring, co-authoring, and presenting technical papers for industry conferences.
- Review customer specifications and prepare proposals for equipment, process systems, and Conceptual / Front End Design work.
- Coordinate supplier activities on equipment projects, including the design, scope, schedule, quality, and technical issues.
- Provide technical consulting and on-site support as needed for supporting technologies and engineering services.
- Provide customer support related to STRATCO / Stratford Engineering / ECOPATH equipment, especially concerning the maintenance, reliability, and mechanical integrity issues.
- Manage and assist with the development of design improvements and metallurgical upgrades for internal proprietary designs and specific revamp designs, as applicable.
- Coordinate and direct the activities of Prime contractors and sub-contractors managed by STRATCO, Inc. or family companies.
- Support the Management Team to establish and achieve annual goals and objectives.
- Manage computer aided drafting and document control needs of company products, projects, and new systems.
- Attend Annual Industry Conferences and Seminars to build relationships with customers and vendors in related industries.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science in Chemical / Process Engineering.Minimum 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Aerospace, or related industries.Ability to effectively communicate and work effectively in virtual team environments.Ability to travel (10-30% of the time) to domestic locations in U.S. and Internationally when applicable or allowed.Ability to work legally in the United States.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with AutoCAD and / or SolidWorks on 2D / 3D mechanical or process designs.Experience in design-fabrication-construction process of pressure vessels, rotating equipment, welding, and quality assurance is desirable. Experience in Mechanical Engineering field and ASME Code is a plus.Experience with Aspen HYSYS or AspenPlus or other reaction / hydraulic simulation programs for Heat & Material Balance calculations and development work is desirable.Master of Business Administration or Professional Engineering License is a plus.Experience with Project Management & Scheduling Software such as ZOHO Projects, Microsoft Project, or P6 Primavera is a plus.Demonstrated experience working in a global environment across multiple cultures is highly desired.
