Job Description
- The Controls Project Lead (CPL) is responsible for ensuring a successful launch of new programs and kitted systems with regards to Controls, Networks and Robotics found within the CLIENT Vehicle Process Engineering (VPE) environment.
- Participation and support in the development and implementation of Vehicle Process Engineering Controls, Automation, Robotics and Engineering (VPE CARE) standards and specifications during the design through the launch phase of new products are fundamental to this position.
- This is accomplished through the direct leadership of a multi-departmental team of individuals, all with unique skill sets associated with their assigned roles. The scope of this team will span the core functions of VPE CARE in Paint.
- The CPL is responsible for the development and delivery of their team's applications, while leading the way in shaping the culture and craft of their respective team.
- The CPL position is also tasked with conducting regular team meetings to review progress and identify potential obstacles, monitoring projects to meet their technical and business objectives, review of lessons learned, solutions to current and past issues, tracking and updating action registers and coordinating work schedules.
- The CPL is also expected to continuously work towards the development of advanced training and standard processes.
- Supervising and managing controls and robotics integration
- Managing and maintaining open controls & robotics issues pertaining to the designated areas
- assigned, ranging from design to installation issues
- Supporting equipment and tooling build at suppliers and ensuring timing and EEM controls &
- robotics milestones are on track
- Supervising the installation and commissioning of equipment and launch
- Reporting standardized updates to Prg Mgr

Chair weekly meeting between Line Integrators, subcontractors and VPE teams (as required) on responsible areasAttend process bid review meetings and provide technical evaluation of Line Integrator bidsAssist the Line Integrator engineering and execution staff with understanding the controls, network architecture, robotics, CIB, VPE CARE / ICT systems and auxiliary equipment utilized for the programVerify each new CLIENT PWS and / or Line Integrator supplied programming device (Laptop) has proper programming software, revisions and that the Line Integrator's software descriptors, symbols and comments for logic are present.Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or HSD with 5+ years of experience in a related fieldInnovative thinker with excellent organizational and project management skillsProblem solving skills specific to Controls systemsExperience supervising or leading a team of technicians and engineersExcellent presentation skills, both written and oralMicrosoft suite (ppt, excel…)Preferred Qualifications :
