American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele Float position requiring at least two years of recent experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work on a Med / Surg Telemetry Float Pool in a hospital settingExpected to float to all medical / surgical floors based on unit needsPatient population is general Med / Surg patients (not cardiac telemetry)Target patient ratio is 1 : 6, with a maximum of 1 : 7 during critical staffingSchedule is 12-hour night shifts (18 : 45 - 07 : 15), working 36 hours per weekWeekend work required every other weekend at manager's discretionSelf-scheduling is available per unit needsOn-site orientation is provided for 24 hoursUses Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for charting and medication managementTravelers are assigned through the Centralized Resource Nursing Pool and may float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as neededMust be comfortable floating without restrictions based on census and skill setRequired to participate in Storm Team or Hurricane Team response during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster situationsScrub colors are navy and / or whiteMust work 2 out of 3 major holidays if scheduled; no RTO allowed during orientationRTO up to 7 days permitted (with certain restrictions); additional time off requires approvalCandidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility will be offered a local rateNot eligible if you are a current travel Per Diem clinician at this health systemPrevious permanent, PRN, or EP staff employees must have a 12 month gap before travel considerationCompletion of online, webinar, and in-person modules required pre-start and annually\n \n Requirements\n
