Our large pharmaceutical client is seeking a Scientist to join their Lentiviral Small Scale Process Development team within API Cell and Gene Therapy organization in Spring House, PA. This Scientist will support upstream activities common to cell culture in shake flasks and wave bioreactor, cell counting methods (i.e. Vi-Cell), thawing, passaging, as well as aseptic technique / processing. Responsibilities include :

  • Assist in the development and optimization of cell culture processes, including media formulation, bioreactor operation, and process monitoring.
  • Support the planning, prioritization, innovation, and execution of early or late phase lentiviral projects.
  • Develop manufacturing process control parameters for STR bioreactor using different SUB system
  • Complete tasks related to single use bioreactor operations including bioreactor setup, sampling and monitoring, and disassembly.
  • Collect and organize data using data science skills and tools
  • Write technical report and documentation needed for regulatory filing and tech transfer activities
  • Support transfer of the processes to internal manufacturing sites or CMOs.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of cell culture and aseptic processing experience
  • Experience operating bioreactors
  • Experience with lentivirus or upstream process development
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biological Sciences or a related field of study
  • Salary : $75,000-$100,000 (flexible based on experience)

    Hours : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm

    Hiring Method : Multiyear contract – After 1 year on contract, the individual will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent role or have their contract renewed for another year

    PTO : 10 PTO days, 6 paid sick days annually & paid Holidays

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and / or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
