Safran Seats is a leading global aircraft seating manufacturer. This role is part of the Safran Seats business and focuses on quality management and Safety Management System (SMS) within the repair station to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and contribute to aviation safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide coordination between the organization, customers, and the FAA & external support in all matters of quality.
- Support the Accountable Manager and Repair Supervisor. Assist, supervise and direct all personnel assigned to the inspection department.
- Assure access to pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations, specifications, Type Certification data sheets, and ADs (Airworthiness directives).
- Determine that all technical data concerning overhauled or repaired articles is secured and kept current with the latest revisions by the respective department inspectors.
- Assure that all inspection tools and test equipment used by the Repair Station is calibrated at the time of use.
- Assure that no defective, unserviceable, or un-airworthy parts are installed in any component or articles released by the Repair Station.
- Submit reports of defects or un-airworthy conditions in accordance with FAR 145.221.
- Ensure proper execution of FAA form 8130-3 Return to Service.
- Accomplish the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts and supplies.
- Ensure that only certificated individuals approve repairs. Maintain Authorized Personnel Roster.
- Initiate corrective or preventative actions when deficiencies are found. Maintain Scrap Program for the Repair Station.
- Define and manage the Safety Management System. Be responsible for the Internal Inspection Audit.
- Support, contribute and ensure participation in continuous improvement activities and initiatives of the company and the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Qualification : Bachelor's degree in Quality or a related field required, or six (6) years related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.Work Experience : At least 5 years of experience in a FAA Part 145 environment. FAA Repairman's certificate required or to be obtained within ninety days of employment. Knowledge of FAA Regulations for TSOs and / or Part Manufacturer Approvals; familiarity with AS9100 / 9110 standards; FAA and EASA regulations.Professional Skills : Strong knowledge of Quality tools, Lean & continuous improvement methods; risk management and Aviation Safety; ability to present quality situations to customers or authorities; computer literate with knowledge of MRP systems (MAPICS preferred).Behavioral Skills : Initiative, responsibility, adaptability, autonomy, leadership, negotiation, perseverance, precision, self-motivation; ability to manage multiple tasks and work with limited instruction; results-oriented; capable of driving major initiatives.Desirable : Auditor experience in Part 145.Equal Employment Opportunity : Safran Seats USA is an equal opportunity employer.
