The role…

The Converting Manager is a key member of the Site Management Team (SMT), providing senior level expertise to the manufacturing site's Converting department. This role ensures that the production of products and processes meets or exceeds safety, quality, service, and productivity expectations.

How you'll make an impact…

  • Lead by example in a values-driven culture, aligning teams with the company's mission, vision, and values.
  • Manage 24 / 7 converting operations, including supervisors and frontline production teams, while developing talent and succession plans.
  • Champion a safety-first culture with continuous training, accident prevention, OSHA / ISO compliance, and active safety engagement.
  • Drive operational excellence through ownership of KPIs (OEE, yield, throughput, scrap, changeovers, delivery performance).
  • Support site and departmental goals, manage customer complaints, and oversee finishing processes.
  • Implement Lean Six Sigma, daily management systems, Gemba walks, and Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement.
  • Standardize SOPs, visual management, equipment standards, and root cause problem-solving.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics to ensure reliability, efficiency, and schedule adherence.

What do you bring…

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in 24 / 7 manufacturing operations
  • Proven expertise in make-to-order production, Lean Six Sigma and TPM methodologies.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 preferred
  • Strong ERP proficiency required; SAP experience preferred. Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to lead across all organizational levels.
  • Strong financial acumen, with direct experience in labor planning, budget management, and cost optimization.
  • Track record of developing leaders, building succession pipelines, and driving organizational change.
