Counselor

Overview

CHC Addiction Services is a non-profit social service agency in the Akron area whose mission is to treat, inspire, support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. CHC has been a critical part of Ohio's efforts to treat and prevent substance use disorders since 1974. We are looking for Counselors / Therapists to join our Outpatient team.

The Outpatient Counselor position provides direct service to Outpatient clients through both individual and group counseling. Counselors evaluate assessments for identified patients and their family members, facilitate a timely and appropriate treatment plan, and coordinate said plan with available agency services and the community. CHC offers a private office, quality supervision, and ongoing training and CEUs.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to assigned outpatient clients in accordance with CHC policies and the Code of Ethics.
• Evaluate assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and coordinate case management with agency services and community resources.
• Ensure thorough and concise documentation of each step of the patient's treatment.
• Participate in weekly clinical supervision meetings and seek additional professional consultation as needed.
