We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join our leadership team in Kearny, NJ. The ideal candidate is a licensed nursing professional with a strong background in behavioral health, addiction services, and team management.
Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight : Oversee and coordinate all nursing operations across our facility to ensure the highest standards of patient care. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring nursing policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations, such as those from the NJ DOH, Joint Commission, and CARF.
- Leadership and Mentorship : Lead, mentor, and supervise nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and medical support staff. Ensure proper training, onboarding, and performance evaluation for the entire nursing team.
- Clinical Management : Monitor patient assessments, medication administration, detox protocols, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Example : COWS and CWAS.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration : Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to ensure integrated and holistic care for all clients. Serve as a key liaison for internal and external stakeholders regarding medical and nursing services.
- Quality and Audits : Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives to maintain and improve care standards.
Qualifications
Licensure : Current RN license in the state of New Jersey is required.Education : A BSN is required, with an MSN or a Nursing Administration degree preferred.Experience : A minimum of 3 years of experience in a nursing leadership role is required. Experience in substance abuse and / or mental health treatment settings is strongly preferred.Skills : Knowledge of detox protocols, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and co-occurring disorders is essential. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills are also required.Certifications : CPR / BLS certification is required.Requirements :
