$150,000 $200,000 USD annually

Position Summary

A secure healthcare facility is seeking a licensed Dentist to provide professional dental care to individuals in a correctional or institutional setting. This role includes full-scope general dentistry, program oversight, and coordination with healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Provide routine and emergency dental care including exams, x-rays, fillings, extractions, cleanings, root canals, and dentures

Develop and implement treatment plans

Educate patients on oral hygiene and disease prevention

Oversee and manage the on-site dental program, including supervision of any supporting staff

Coordinate with other medical professionals for referrals or complex care

Maintain inventory and ensure compliance with safety and infection control procedures

Complete and manage all required documentation including dental records, reports, and logs

Monitor compliance with state regulations, professional standards, and internal policies

Provide budgetary input and manage dental-related expenses and billing documentation

Inspect work areas and equipment for safety and security, especially in environments with strict control measures

Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and on-call needs

Interact professionally and respectfully with patients, staff, and external stakeholders

Attend required training, workshops, and compliance updates

Conduct audits and quality assurance checks on dental files and pharmacy use

Safeguard confidential patient information and ensure proper documentation standards

Comply with workplace safety practices and emergency response protocols

May require participation in inspections, investigations, and administrative reporting

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited dental school

Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of employment

At least 1 year of clinical experience preferred

Strong oral and written communication skills

Must be willing to work full-time on site

Valid drivers license preferred (may be required depending on contract)

Minimum age requirement : 18 years

Preferred Attributes

Ability to work independently and handle a wide range of clinical and administrative tasks
