Seeking a physician to provide care to patients at a correctional & infirmary facility in Mitchells, Buckingham County, & State Farm, VA. The physician will provide general medical services including examinations & treatment to the inmate population.

Responsibilities :

Examine, diagnose, treat, counsel and prescribe medications for patients as needed.

Provide physical examinations and other general services

Record a summary in each patient's medical chart after each consultation.

Make referrals to medical or clinical specialists when necessary.

Responsible for providing accurate prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Responsible for the improvement in patient health and quality of life.

Independently resolves daily medical issues.

Ensure guidance is received on policy or exceptional situations.

May provide medical supervision to other clinical staff.

Complexity :

Applies knowledge of medical principles, practices, and skill in the use of medical instruments, equipment, and procedures.

Ability to accurately examine, diagnose, counsel, and treat a variety of patients.

Frequently consults on matters relating to medical treatment with : patients and their families; medical, clinical, or other professional staff; and insurance companies.
