Job Summary :
The Manager of Network Security provides day-to-day operational leadership and strategic oversight for our growing security engineering team. This role ensures the resilience, security, and compliance of customer networks by driving excellence in service delivery, developing team talent, and aligning technical execution with organizational objectives. The Manager of Network Security supervises technical staff, sets and enforces security standards, enforces KPIs and SLAs and owns the development of departmental processes and SOPs. In office role highly preferred.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
Perform all supervisory duties associated with the Network Security Engineering team including employee-related issuesDirect daily operations of the Network Security Team analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlinesEnsuring effective incident response, firewall / security device management, and escalation handling.Perform supervisory duties including employee-related issues, management of professional development, performance reviews, and KPIsPartner with executive leadership to define, prioritize, and manage security initiatives and projects.Establish, manage, and evolve the appropriate SLAs and customer satisfaction measures that are aligned to business needsPlan, organize, schedule, and supervise the strategic technical operations, including troubleshooting, customer service issues, approvals, and installationsArchitect and oversee secure network solutions, including firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN, IDS / IPS, NAC, Switching, Wireless and cloud security integrationsMeet with department heads, managers, supervisors, and vendors to solicit cooperation and resolve problemsSet security standards relating to data and network protection and ensure they are enforced and maintainedRecommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirementsDevelop policies, standards and procedures related to technological best practicesMaintain and ensure compliance with our customer Network Security baselineQualifications :
Bachelors Degree in an Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or commensurate experience6-9 years of experience in the management of high-performance technology teams, including setting standards for development, training, and operational leadership2+ years' experience leading, mentoring, coaching, training, and monitoring the performance of a teamSuccess managing a high-performing team in a fast paced, rapidly changing environmentAbility to manage a diverse team to achieve and surpass key metrics within the departmentExtensive experience in IT service delivery, including servers, network devices, firewalls, databases, and systemsIn-depth understanding of IT industry trends and the ability to apply understanding to identify solutionsKnowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resourcesExperience training and mentoring mid-entry level technology professionalsExperience using time management skills such as prioritizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion datesUnderstanding of the technical relationships between infrastructure technologies and current applications that are part of the product and service portfolioAbility to work in a team environment and demonstrate superiorleadership, presentation, and planning ability, as well as verbal and written communication skillsBusiness acumen; translating business requirements into related solutionsFlexible and able to remain calm in times of stress while managing multiple priorities at one timeActive listener with excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to handle difficult conversationsSound problem-solving technique with ability and persistence to generate options and select the best solutionAbility to build relationships based on trust to enable collaboration amongst team members and internal / external stakeholdersAbility to communicate effectively with customers and various levels of management both verbally and in written formAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentTeam player mentality and willingness to share knowledge with othersLogically provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, gender identity, sexual orientation, and other protected classes.
