Responsibilities Work in a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Med / Surg unit with a 10-bed capacity Patient population includes respiratory failure, post-surgical, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac patients Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 5 3 twelve-hour night shifts weekly (7p-7a) with rotating weekends and holidays Qualified Med / Surg RNs may float to ICU or Acute Rehab as needed Epic EMR system is used Heparin titratable drips are managed House Supervisor is available 24 / 7 Monitor Tech in ICU monitors tele packs housewide Classroom orientation provided according to policy, plus 2 shifts with a preceptor on the unit RNs are supported by nurse aids with a 1 : 10 ratio RT manages all respiratory equipment; RNs may troubleshoot as needed Scrub attire required; any color permitted, only approved t-shirts allowed Holiday and weekend rotation is required COVID vaccination is not required Local rates apply for candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles Requirements Active IL RN license required prior to consideration Minimum of 1 year of RN experience Current BLS certification (AHA) required PEG tube care and feeding, CVC / PICC / Midline management, and tracheostomy patient care skills necessary Ability to titrate drips, including Heparin Experience with Epic EMR is required Must be able to pass a comprehensive drug screen for all panels Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624030.
